Mitre10 + BoB = DIY dynamic display
When you can’t find a dynamic display solution that lets you integrate data from multiple parties, in real time, to a specific client’s brand guidelines, and then populates across all standard IAB formats… what do you do? You build one yourself.
It’s called BoB, and our team at FCB designed it to be seriously useful:
Beautiful banners, first and foremost; started from a project to beat Google’s clumsy lowest-common-denominator layouts hands down
Bulk content propagation through spreadsheet uploads
Realtime updates through CMS
Multiple hot-swappable data sources
This solution is live, and robust, and one of my personal favourite toys. It’s remarkable the tricks you can do with a platform like this; for example:
Pulled current weather forecast data, regional data, stock sales goals and stock availability to define the creative output through BOB;
Overlaid highly targeted audience segments based on DIY enthusiasm, home ownership, time of day/week, and proximity to a Mitre10 store;
Entered a unique partnership with metservice using unique API access to boost targeting.
Mapping visitor location and search results to local weather conditions and hyperlocal store inventory… in real time. That’s cool.
